Get Involved: Electing GCA District Representatives and Officers for 2025-26

Published on 1/28/2025

The Greenbriar Civic Association (GCA) is gearing up for the election of District Representatives and Officers for the 2025-26 term. This is your opportunity to shape the future of our community by participating in the process that ensures the GCA continues to thrive and serve Greenbriar.

The GCA relies on dedicated volunteers to fill leadership roles. Each position—from District Representatives to Officers such as President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary—plays a vital role in keeping our association running smoothly and meeting the needs of the neighborhood.

How to Participate

  1. Membership Matters: To vote or serve as an officer or representative, you must be a member in good standing. This means your $25 annual membership dues must be paid for the current fiscal year before any votes are cast.
  2. Nominating Committee: At the March board meeting, a Nominating Committee will be appointed to identify candidates for each role. The committee will present its recommendations at the April board meeting, and the slate will be announced to all members in the May issue of The Flyer.
  3. Make Your Voice Heard: Elections will take place at the Annual Membership Meeting in June. Additional nominations can be made from the floor, provided the nominee consents beforehand. If only one person is nominated for each position, the vote may be conducted by voice; otherwise, it will be by ballot.
  4. Join the Team: Only GCA members are eligible to run for office. If you’re interested in serving as a District Representative or Officer, consider reaching out to the Nominating Committee or attending a board meeting to express your interest.

Why It Matters

The GCA is a cornerstone of our community, ensuring we remain connected, informed, and engaged. From planning events to improving neighborhood amenities, the association’s work directly impacts every resident. Serving on the board or as a representative is a meaningful way to contribute to our neighborhood’s success.

We encourage all members to attend the Annual Meeting in June, participate in the election process, and consider volunteering. Together, we can keep Greenbriar a vibrant and welcoming place to live!
