October Updates from Your Greenbriar Civic Association

Hi neighbor,

Autumn is in the air, although we are enjoying a last balmy summer-like weekend.

Our thoughts are with those who have suffered so much loss from the recent storms.

1. The Greenbriar Flyer

You may have wondered where the last two editions of the Greenbriar Flyer are. Historically, the Flyer is not published in September. Unfortunately, our editor in chief was unable to publish the October newsletter due to a family illness. We trust you will understand. If you are interested in volunteering with our neighborhood newsletter please visit their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/weare.greenbriar

2. Association Business

- Monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month, unless otherwise posted. Our October meeting was postponed until the eighth. A number of items were brought up during this meeting. The board of directors appreciates all of our community guests who attended for their input.

- A few concerns were raised regarding community safety. Watch our website for articles.

- Due to upcoming elections our November meeting will be postponed. Please join us for our next meeting on the second Tuesday of November.

3. Coming Activities

Your Greenbriar Civic Association invites you to join our upcoming seasonal activities:

- Holiday Decoration Competition: Greenbriar is proud to be one of the destinations for locals to view Christmas lights. We invite homeowners and residents to submit their holiday decorations for our annual neighborhood competition. More details will come in the next issue, but please start planning to dress your house.

- Cookies with Santa: on December 10 we will welcome the jolly old guy to our community center for cookies and photographs with our families. Volunteers are needed. Set up begins around four and doors open to families later. This is always a fun activity.

- White Elephant Exchange: after the guests have left and the decorations are down, what to do with those unwanted gifts? Join us January 11 for our annual white elephant gift exchange. We bring wrapped gifts to exchange in a funny and revealing competition. Refreshments will be served.

4. Know Your District

Your house is assigned to a district. Members can find your district number and the name of your representative on this page which is restricted to members https://greenbriargca.org/district-representatives. I am in the process of adding each household's district to the metro area field in your membership profile. If you do not see the district number there yet, it is coming. We have reserved this field for this purpose, so please do not edit it to something else.

5. Are you a member?

If you are a member of the civic association, thank you! Your ongoing gifts help to promote the activities of this association. We especially appreciate those who go above and beyond as Community Builders and Community Supporters. If you have let your membership lapse, are unsure of your current membership status, or are just learning about this association, please visit the homepage of our website to login or sign up. https://greenbriargca.org/ You will see the links on the page.

As your new website and community manager, I am excited to work alongside the board to grow our civic association.

This association depends on the continued participation of neighbors like you.

Thank you!

Mike Ritter
