Cale Community Center

Overview & Guidelines

The Greenbriar Civic Association’s Cale Community Center at 4615 Stringfellow Road in Chantilly is available for rent by neighborhood residents and the broader community for meetings, events and activities. The center, built in the early 1970s, was originally named the Greenbriar Community Center. It was renamed the Cale Community Center in 2013 to honor Emerson and Barbara Cale in honor of their long-term service to the GCA and our community. The CCC is generally available for rent Friday through Sunday between 1:30 and 11 p.m.

There is limited availability during the week, but there may be additional times available during school vacations and the summer months.

Every effort has been made to provide a safe, comfortable building for your use. Your cooperation and respect are appreciated. The CCC facility manager will greet you at a previously agreed upon time to welcome you and provide an orientation of the facility. Following orientation, you may proceed with setting up for your event. The facility manager may stop in during your rental period and is always available by phone at 571-302-1361.

  • Commercial Activities: Any commercial activity associated with a business requires a Certificate of Liability Insurance to be provided by the renter. This includes activities that are free to the public but are presented by someone who has a business related to the free activity (example: a tax planning seminar given by someone who provides tax and retirement planning).
  • Security Deposits: A refundable security deposit is required for all rentals: $100 for weekday rentals; $200 for weekend rentals; $500 if user intends to allow alcohol; $1,000 if the majority of participants are minors or young adults. The security deposit will be refunded within 10 working days after use and an inspection of the premises. Any damages or cleaning fees will be deducted from the security deposit if necessary.
  • Alcohol: Serving of alcohol is permitted, but a Certificate of Liability Insurance and a larger refundable security deposit (see above) are required. If serving alcohol to the public, renter is required to obtain an alcoholic beverage permit from Fairfax County.
  • Gum: Chewing gum is not recommended, and a $5 per spot on the floor that requires removal of the gum will be deducted from the security deposit.
  • Arrival: Caterers, entertainment and others should be instructed not to arrive before the contracted rental time.
  • Damages: User is responsible for all damages to the property and equipment during use. Marring, staining or damage to the floor or any other surface may be deducted from the security deposit.
  • Decorations: Only decorations that can be removed safely without harming surfaces may be used, and all decorations and any residue must be removed by user before the end of the contract period. No birdseed, rice, or confetti may be used inside or outside of the building.
  • Chairs: After use, all chairs must be stacked (eight to a stack) on the rolling platforms and returned to the storage area.
  • Tables: After use, all tables must be wiped clean, folded and returned to the storage area.
  • Departure: User and guests must vacate the building at the completion of the contract period. All users and guests must leave the parking lot within 15 minutes of the completion of the contract period. All cleanup duties must be completed before the end of the contract period and departure unless you have a cleanup contract with us.
  • Injuries: User is responsible for all injuries to guests. The CCC reserves the right to require the user to furnish a Certificate of Liability Insurance in the proper limit.
  • Smoking: Smoking is not permitted inside the building. If smoking outside the building, please use the ashtrays provided.
  • Illegal Activities: No illegal activities (example: serving alcohol to minors) are permitted.

Violation of any laws prevailing in Fairfax County by any person while in attendance at the Cale Community Center will be sufficient grounds for termination of the event and the forfeiture of any fees and the security deposit.
